Human Resources

The Richland County Department of Human Resources is responsible for the following functions for all departments under the Board of Commissioners and, upon request, other elected officials:

Oversees and coordinates hiring process for departments under Board of Commissioners

Assists departments with state and federal employment law compliance

Policy development, interpretation and administration

Provides training in various employment-related areas

Unemployment compensation claims

Handles disciplinary actions

Labor relations to include:  negotiating collective bargaining agreements, contract administration and interpretation, and grievance processing

Inquiries regarding employment opportunities and the status of job postings should be directed to the department with the vacancy.
